From the Wayback Machine. During the 90s you could get away with doing stuff like this in the office. They actually built a small cottage for this engineer that was complaining about his work space.

Before "Between Two Ferns" there was "Between Two Monitors". In the early days of the web David Filo of Yahoo! could do things like appear on computer TV shows such as New Media News and "surf" the web for information on caffeine as a way to promote Yahoo as the web's original aggregator. Take a trip back to 1996 when the web was nothing but gray pages and blue links and Netscape had a future. We even had to include a link to Yahoo! at the end of the piece so people could find the site. David's sidekick is Derek Dukes who co-founded Dipity in 2007. We imagine he's still jacked up on soda and coffee. If there's one constant in this valley it's the steady flow of caffeine. So these links are just as useful today as they were 15 years ago. Enjoy!

Yes, that's right. At one time a 560MB hard drive cost $249. We recently produced a tribute video for SanDisk founder Eli Harari. While researching and unearthing old VHS tapes from the 90s we came across this ad for Fry's Electronics.
It's funny, because one of the SanDisk engineers mentioned that in the early 90's they thought it would be like hitting the "big time" if their new solid state PCMCIA storage cards made it to the shelves in Fry's. Of course, now SanDisk is in over 240,000 store fronts worldwide and is synonomous with flash storage for cameras, phones and computers. But once upon a time things were very, very different.
