Sansa slotMusic Player Review

The slotMusic player does not support DRM files. In fact there’s no way to connect to a PC to synchronize files anyway. This isn’t a big deal since most online services are selling DRM free music.
We used a USB to microSD adapter to load a bunch of music on a slotMusic card with an extra 700MB of space on it. So figure about an 250 songs total on a 1GB card. The cool thing is you can simply keep your favorite mixes on separate cards. Managing playlists and large pools of music on one player is very cumbersome for the non tech savvy. Keeping track of the cards will be an issue, although SanDisk tells us they have a plethora of card management solutions in the works. We’ll see how this evolves.
I know my sister will appreciate something like this. She still hasn’t updated her playlist on her iPod. Too complicated she says. If somebody doesn’t do it for her it just doesn’t happen. At least with this she could buy some music and load it herself.
Visit Sansa for more information on the slotMusic player and the whole music on a microSD card thing.
